TAMAF guests were in for an unforgettable trip filled with art, architecture, and exclusive experiences at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Led by the museum's Chief Curator, Austen Barron Bailly, the guests enjoyed private tours of the museum's extensive art collection, gaining unique insights and perspectives on the works of American artists.
In addition to the art-filled tours, the guests also had the opportunity to explore the museum's picturesque grounds with Clay Bakker, the Director of Trails and Grounds. They learned about the careful design and curation of the museum's outdoor spaces, which seamlessly blend with the natural beauty of the Ozark landscape.
A highlight of the trip was a tasting menu experience combined with a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Bachman-Wilson House, which is a preserved example of Wright's iconic architectural style. The guests were treated to a culinary journey while appreciating the intricate details and design elements of this historic house.
The guests were also privileged to have talks with two renowned architects. Moshe Safdie, the architect who designed Crystal Bridges Museum, shared insights into his vision and design concepts behind the museum's architecture, providing a unique perspective on the building's form and function. Alvaro Amat, Head of Crystal Bridges' Exhibition Design, provided further insights into the curation and design of the museum's exhibitions, enriching the guests' understanding of how art is presented and experienced within the museum setting.
